Holiday Drive Thank You
Truly Blessed. Amazing. Overwhelming Support. Grateful.
These are just a few words that come to mind when I think of the Operation Winchendon Cares Holiday Drive that was held at the American Legion Post 193 on Saturday, November 10th. What an amazing turn out and show of support for Winchendon’s military members. They are all truly grateful for the packages that they received thanks to each and every one of you.
Since my husband and I were out of state, this huge undertaking fell to Joni Gorecki and Bridget Marinelli. We can’t thank them enough for taking on this huge task. As always, we thank the American Legion Post 193 for allowing us to use the hall and for their donation towards the postage. Thanks to Sweet Treat Bakery for the shrink wrapped cookies that they deliver to the Legion – at a discount, I might add. Thanks to the Post Office for the free priority boxes and labels. A huge thank you to Robinson Broadhurst for allowing us to be one of their recipients. Thanks to WalMart for their donation of packing tape.
A special shout out to the Girl Scouts who decided on hosting a haunted house to raise money, items and awareness for our project. They also sold refreshments to help raise money. Also to the Cub Scouts who donated boxes of popcorn from their fundraiser. The youth in our Town are off to a great start with volunteerism and selfless giving!
