Word of Thanks

We want to say “thank you” to the residents of Winchendon who took the time to make our 51st mailing of Operation Winchendon Cares such a success. It is so rewarding to hear back from our troops when they receive the reminder from their hometown. Packages were sent to 31 service members stationed around the globe! 21 packages went Stateside and 22 went overseas!

As always, I need to thank Will Brown for the website http://www.winchendoncares.com, the American Legion Post 193 for the use of their hall, and Sweet Treat Bakery for baking, shrink wrapping and delivering 70 dozen cookies!

Our next mailing will be in August. Please watch for the date on our website or Facebook page and in the Courier as well as the town’s public announcements channel. Beginning with this mailing all donations will need to be brought in from 9- 10:30 a.m. That gives us time to package them up and get to the PO before it closes.
