On a beautiful Saturday morning in August, people took time out of their day to donate items to the members of the military with ties to Winchendon. We were hoping for a bigger turnout but I am confident that on November 7th, we will.
First and foremost, I would like to thank Will Brown for our website, The American legion Post 193 for the use of their hall and donation of the postage, Sweet Treat Bakery for preparing our order of cookies and shrink wrapping them to make sure that they arrive fresh and in good shape, Robinson-Broadhurst for their generous donation and Dick & Sandy Creamer for donating the posters that were hung around town. Unfortunately someone has been tearing signs off all around town and ours were also torn down.
Thanks to the volunteers who came to drop off, sort and pack donations this time. They put together 14 packages for overseas and 12 for stateside. Steve Ashmore & Sheba, Lisa & Abigail Field, Lori Gaydos, Ethan & Joni Gorecki, Mo Molai and Ann Marie Slomcheck.
